How to use the Text Tool in Paint. NetRegarding the Text tool, Todd asked:
I have Paint.Net and I'm trying to figure out how to write the lettering for
an ebook cover. I can put the image in Paint.Net and write black text on it. Can you tell me what to do, please? Here is my answer: Hello there Todd! I am glad to hear from you. I am thrilled to learn that you are designing your own ebook cover. It is a lovely thing you are doing - just shows how innovative you are. Keep at it and you will soon be a master at it. Now, about your problem - I am using version 3.36. Which one are you using? There is a tool bar for font-editing just above your work area. (Ensure that you select the Text Tool in your tool box first. It appears as an 'A'). Upon typing your text, you can change it's style by selecting the style you prefer in the 'font' option. To change it's color, go to 'window' in the menu and select 'colors'. The tool bar for colors will appear. You can choose the color of your font by simply clicking on the appropriate part of the disk, or better yet, you can customise your own color. If this does not work still, then these are the most likely causes: 1. Once you type your text, and you move your cursor to a different position, you immediately lose all editing on your initial text. Whatever editing you do will affect the text you will NEXT type. 2. Another glitch I noticed is that sometimes, after typing the text, and you hit the enter button, the only editing you can do is changing the text size. To solve these problems, try the following: 1. After typing your text, DO NOT MOVE the cursor to another position until you are done editing your text. If you move your cursor to another position because you want to type more text, you will not be able to edit your initial text. 2. Try Selecting the style and color before typing. 3. Exiting and restarting the program may remove the glitch. I hope that these suggestions have helped you out. All the best!
