Ebook Reading Devices

Ebook reading devices or ebook readers are devices which are used to read ebooks. The device maybe specifically designed for reading as applicable to Sony & hiebook or intended for other purposes as well such as applicable to PDA’s and notebooks. However, specialized devices such as Sony Reader, iRex iLiad ER-100, and hiebook, despite being expensive have superior features and benefits.

The other unique Ebook Reader with dual applications is the Plucker. This is an offline web and ebook reader.

Amazon has so far released two ebook Readers, Kindle 1 and Kindle 2.

Nowadays, ebook reading devices are becoming better. Some devices are using E Ink technology. These devices offer better features than devices could offer in the past.

There are Readers such as Microsoft Reader, STAReBook and the Eink device from Korea. The Eink device has been designed to read Russian, English, Korean and Japanese. All these Readers have different ways required in order to read ebooks. For example, you need to go through a registration process which identifies your computer in order for you to read digitally secured Microsoft Reader eBook titles.

Other devices that could be considered as ebook readers are known as PDAs. PDA stands for Personal Digital Assistant. These are often referred to as “handheld”.

At its simplest, the PDA stores personal information. The PDA is a hand held computer which was originally designed as a personal organizer.

The basic features of any PDA are a date book, address book, task list and a memo pad. These features are very helpful at keeping someone organized.

There are various PDAs on the market such as Dell Axim, Palm and iPaq.

The good thing about a portable ebook reader is that you can read your favorite ebook wherever you may be, even when traveling! You can’t just read one or two ebooks but you can carry as many ebooks as possible on just a single device!

Finally, another advantage is that the ebook can be read in various font sizes according to the type of ebook reader which you are handling.
