How to Create Great Headlines Which People Read

Why is it good to create great headlines which people read? Having a killer headline for the article on your website or your ebook is a good thing. Why? A good title will mean more prospective customers for you. Well, lets reason it this way. Among so many articles in your favorite newspaper, which ones do you select to read? The answer is obvious.

Good headlines come with practice. So don’t feel bad if they are not as good as expected at the beginning.

Make your headline reflect current trends. People are not interested in the past. They want current events. They want new things. So your headlines should convey the thought that whatever it is that you are writing about is happening now.

Look through your whole article. What is the most important item in the article? Include that in the headline.

People would want to know the benefit of reading your article or ebook. Your headline should answer their questions. Show them the benefit of following a particular action.

Generally, it has been observed that long headlines have greater impact than those with two or three words. So make your titles longer.

Some words have pulling power! Use them. Words such as “breakthrough”, “new” “at last”, “guarantee”, can do wonders.

The headline should not mislead. Indicate what can possibly be done. “How to become a millionaire in two days” is not a good headline. It is not believable.

Website visitors are busy people. After arriving at your site, and glancing at your headline, within a split second a decision is made whether your article is worth reading before they go to the next.

Write good titles that simplify things for your website visitor. Titles such as “five reasons why you…..” will go along way in enticing your visitor to read.

One type of headline you can use is one which endorses your product. Have people been using your product? Are they satisfied with it? Mention about what these people have said about your product in your title. Generally, your prospective customer will buy your product if others have recommended it.

What is one way of getting people’s attention? Raise their curiosity and emotion. Your title should offer your visitor some benefit on the personal level. “Get a quality car very cheaply!” could be a good title to make your prospective customers read your article. This one goes at the root of people’s desire for material things.

Here is another side. Do you have an ezine list? You may have head about the saying “the money is in the list”.

But how do you maintain that list? Simple! Create great headlines, and provide great content and that list will never disappear!

What is the conclusion here? Spend most of your time polishing your headline. It will bring you dividends a hundred fold.
