The stages involved in producing ebooks are not so many as compared with paper based books. From the time the book is accepted by the publisher, in most cases it will take more than a year before one can start earning from it. The chances are, your book maybe rejected. Once you have the print book published, it is never updated. This is not the case with ebooks. Updating is easy as there are no old versions to get rid of!

As for the reading of the ebook, he does not need to use costly paper if he so wishes. The book can be read right from his computer screen. It goes without saying that there are certain ebooks that can only be read on the computer without being printed.
