Electronic books On the Way Out?

Currently Electronic books are being pitted against Traditional print books. There is a controversy going on that ebooks are on the way out.

  • Nowadays, there are a lot of text books for students in ebook format. This proves that they are cheaper than print books.

  • Print books can be destroyed. They get worn out through were and tear.
  • When traveling you no longer need to carry with you heavy books which may weigh you down.
  • Publishers of ebooks only deliver what is required. There is no over printing as it is the case with print books! Moreover, production of ebooks is environmentally friendly. There is no pollution and you preserve the trees. This is not the case with traditional books.
  • As long as you have a computer and you are connected to the Internet you can write and publish you own ebook. Contacting established traditional publishing industry is no longer necessary.

  • Talk about the saving in storage space associated with ebooks! With books you need a lot of space to file your numerous books.

  • Ebooks are not popular. There is need to make more ebooks. A lot of people don’t know that they exist.
  • Ebooks are of low quality. They have a lot of mistakes and are badly formatted.
  • Reading of ebooks on Ebook Reading devices strains your eyes. You do not have that natural feeling of reading a book.
  • Ebooks sometimes do have in place restrictions to prevent them from being downloaded by unauthorized people. This may result in your ebook not being compatible with your Ebook Reader.
